Originally released in 2005, Prospect Hummer is a collaborative EP from the avant-folk experimentalists Animal Collective, recorded alongside folk legend Vashti Bunyan at Idle Luxury Studios in London. The sessions, captured in April 2004 and mixed by Rusty Santos, bring together Bunyan's delicate vocals with Animal Collective's layered guitars, piano, and unconventional textures to create something genuinely unique in both artists' catalogs.

Prospect Hummer is a brief but deeply atmospheric release, featuring four tracks that blend gentle folk sensibilities with the band's trademark exploratory sound. With artwork by Avey Tare and an intimate, warmly recorded feel, this is a cherished meeting point between two distinct musical worlds that fans of either artist will find deeply rewarding.
