Driven by the twisted (and often darkly humorous) vision of burly singer/bassist Pete Steele, the band offers up the brooding anthem "Black No. 1" and an amped-up, mascara-lined take on Neil Young's "Cinnamon Girl," among the disc's 12 tracks. Given that a little of Steele's vampirical persona goes a long way, this collection is just the right dose of Type O Negative for the average shadow-dweller.
