Released in 2003, Permission To Land was a landmark debut from British rock band The Darkness, arriving like a thunderbolt of unapologetic, arena-ready rock. Channeling the spirit of classic hard rock with soaring guitar riffs and the unmistakable falsetto vocals of Justin Hawkins, the album became a critical and commercial sensation, earning the band Best Rock Album at the 2003 Kerrang! Awards.

The album produced massive UK hits including "I Believe in a Thing Called Love" and "Christmas Time (Don't Let the Bells End)," both of which reached No. 2 on the UK charts.
