It makes Michael Stipe’s unusual lyrics and his distinctive vocals stand out even more. In a post-punk era, R.E.M. brought back guitar pop and pioneered the alternative rock genre, inspiring generations of new bands. R.E.M. disbanded amicably in 2011, but their rich musical legacy lives on and shines on this intimate recording featuring hit songs “Losing My Religion” and “Radio Song”.
